6. Evidence of the IELTS score

HSC Exam routine 2014 has published Here

 

HSC Routine 2014 – www.educationboard.gov.bd. Higher Secondary Certificate Routine 2014 has been published today, 18th February,14 under the supervision of all eduction boards. HSC Examination will be start from 3rd April, 2014 and end on 5th June, 2014. Exam time will be at 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm.

Education Minister for Freeing JnU Dorms        from Illegal Occupants

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid urged the illegal occupants to make free the dormitories of Jagannath University (JnU) for the sake of education.

He made the remarks while talking to the protesting students of JnU, an official press release said.The minister said when JnU was a collage, its students used to live at the hostels. Somehow, the hostels were occupied illegally, he added. The hostels are very important for the university as its land is insufficient, Nahid said.He said a probe-body will be formed at government level soon to retrieve the dormitories, if necessary.

BangladeshGovernment Decided to Upgrade RMC and CMC to Universities

The government has decided to upgrade Rajshahi and Chittagong medical colleges to medical universities, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said on February 27, 2014.

While disclosing the decision, the minister expressed hope that the universities would contribute significantly to improve health services in the country.

Addressing the event, Nasim said, "We are forming an advisory committee for the health ministry that will include journalists and other stakeholders". Another committee headed by the additional secretary to the health ministry is being formed to examine the equipment purchase records of government hospitals in recent years, he added.

"We will identify and take action against those who were involved in the purchase of expensive equipment that is proved to be useless", said the minister. He also reiterated his determination to fight absenteeism among doctors posted in rural areas.

BGMEA-BUFT Journalism Fellowship 2014

PGD Level.
Eligibility
Journalists who are working in the field of print and electronic media in Bangladesh for at least two years will be eligible to apply for the fellowship.

The following documents need to be submitted with application:
a. Two reports related to RMG sector, published or broadcast in the media between June 1, 2013 and May 1, 2014. (Applicants from print media will submit photocopy of their published reports and applicants from TV channels will submit their broadcast reports in CD.)
b. Proposals of at least two reports on the RMG sector which they will accomplish within the time-frame of the fellowship program.
c. A recommendation letter from the Editor/Chief News Editor/Chief Reporter of the organization in which they work. The recommendation letter must mention working experience of the applicant.
Facility
Each fellow will be awarded Tk. 1,00,000/- (one lac taka) as grant and a certificate.

Australia Awards Scholarships: Bangladesh Intake Commencing Academic Year 2015

Eligibility
be a citizen of Bangladesh;
meet the following English language test requirements:
1. an Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) result with an overall score of at least 6.5, with no band less than 6.0, OR
2. a paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) overall score of at least 580, with a minimum of 4.5 in the test of written English, OR
3. an internet-based TOEFL score of at least 92, with a minimum of 21 in all subtests, OR
4. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50.
The English language test results must be valid at 1 January 2015 (IELTS, TOEFL scores, and PTE Academic are valid for two years after the test date).
Where an institution’s academic English language requirement is higher than those detailed above, the awardee must meet the institution’s requirement.
Please note: Women, applicants with disabilities and applicants from ethnic minority groups with IELTS scores of 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5 (or TOEFL or PTE equivalents) will be considered. If applicants from these groups submit applications with lower IELTS/TOEFL/PTE scores, they must meet the English language requirement described above and any special language requirements of their courses, if offered an Australia Awards Scholarship.
be a current employee of the Government of Bangladesh, ICDDR,B, BRAC or a member of an ethnic minority group or working in the area of Water Resource Management; have at least two years’ work experience in a field relevant to their proposed course of study. Government of Bangladesh employees must have completed their 2 years of service tenure as Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) cadre officer at the time of application. Have a university qualification at least equivalent in standard to an Australian Bachelor's degree. Study programs can be no longer than 2 years in duration.
Applicants for Masters by research must provide evidence of an offer of admission to an appropriate course at an eligible Australian university for full time studies commencing in 2015. Research applicants must also provide evidence from an academic supervisor who will supervise the research study.

Facility
Australia Awards Scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary to complete the academic program specified by a university.

The following benefits generally apply:
full tuition fees;
return economy-class air travel by the most direct route; establishment allowance: a once only contribution towards initial expenses such as rental bonds, text books, additional medical insurance, excess baggage etc.;
contribution to living expenses: a fortnightly contribution to basic living
expenses; Introductory Academic Program a compulsory 4-6 week program on life and study in Australia prior to the commencement of formal studies;
Overseas Student Health Cover: for the duration of the award (for award holder only). This covers basic hospital and medical costs, excluding pre-existing conditions;
visa application expenses.

Subject to requirements and eligibility, Australia Awards Scholarships may also cover:
supplementary Academic Support (Tutorial Assistance): to improve a student's performance to ensure academic success, if required;
for eligible research students only, contribution to fieldwork costs may be available for one return economy class airfare by the most direct route to Bangladesh or within Australia;
reunion airfare (for unaccompanied awardees).

Applicants from the Government of Bangladesh must select one of the following themes from the list in the application form: Economic growth; Governance; Gender Equality, Regional Stability, or Health, and Education.
Applicants from ICDDR,B must select one of the following themes from the list in the application form: Health or Governance.
Applicants from BRAC must select the following theme from the list in the application form: Economic Growth and Education.
Applicants working in Water Resource Management must select one of the following themes from the list in the application form: Water and Sanitation.
